We are a large hospital-based practice with both first opinion and referral sides.
We are equipped to a high standard including onsite CT and a 1.5T MRI. We are pleased to offer discipline specific internships in the areas of surgery, internal medicine, dermatology and exotic medicine working alongside diplomates or advanced practitioners.
We also offer a rotating internship which allows for time to be spent in all of the disciplines the hospital offers. These are structured internships which will improve the successful candidates’ abilities in clinical examination, consultation technique, diagnostic techniques, clinical skills and decision making in treatment options. Whilst the positions are discipline specific, all the positions will involve rotation through the first opinion OOH service to allow the successful candidate to gain experience in emergency care.

JULY 2021 Opportunity for a Resident training position in Veterinary Dermatology, Glasgow, UK.
The Dermatology Referral Service operates in a dedicated practice setting in Glasgow. There are three Diplomates (Peter Forsythe, Hilary Jackson and Victoria Robinson) who are supported by an excellent team of trained RVNs and support staff. The practice is owned by IVC Evidensia but local operation is autonomous.
The residency program has been approved by the European College of Veterinary Dermatology and the successful candidate will be expected to sit the European Diploma. In addition to in house supervision the resident is encouraged to attend national and international dermatology meetings. The practice has close links with both Edinburgh and Glasgow University Veterinary Schools and the resident will be involved in clinical teaching of final year students. We also run a regular Journal club and case discussion with clinicians at Edinburgh University. Whilst the majority of the case load is dogs and cats the practice also does a small amount of equine work.
Instruction will be given on the use of Storz® video-otoscopy and Aesculight® CO2 surgical laser.
Applications will be considered from candidates with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in general practice. Preference will be given to candidates with an advanced practitioner qualification and demonstrable interest in dermatology. Eligibility for RCVS membership is also required.
Residency training would start 6th September 2021 and this is a 3 year program

March 2021 Langford Vets are looking for a dermatologist to join our close-knit team, with an intention of building towards a 2-3 diploma holding clinicians with support from service specific nurses. The small animal hospital at Langford is one of the busiest in the UK, housing the largest team of European, American and RCVS specialists and specialists-in-training in the south west with all major specialties accounted for, as well as serving as the clinical teaching centre for the veterinary and veterinary nursing students of the University of Bristol.
